Meeste Oscarnominaties voor Joker

Het veelbesproken Joker, onlangs nog door onze lezers uitgeroepen tot 'beste film van 2019', werd onder meer genomineerd in de categorieën beste regie,  beste mannelijke hoofdrol (Joaquin Phoenix) en beste film.

In die laatste categorie neemt de film het onder meer op tegen het Zuid-Koreaanse Parasite. Opvallend, want zelden worden niet-Engelstalige films genomineerd voor het belangrijkste gouden beeldje. De in Cannes met de Gouden Palm bekroonde thriller van Bong Joon-ho werd ook genomineerd voor beste regie, beste scenario, beste montage en beste internationale film (voorheen bekend als beste niet-Engelstalige film).

Ook opmerkelijk: actrice Scarlett Johansson werd maar liefst twee keer genomineerd, zowel voor beste hoofdrol (Marriage Story) als beste bijrol (Jojo Rabbit).

De prijsuitreiking van de 92ste Academy Awards vindt plaats op zondag 9 februari. In Nederland is de uitreiking dit jaar niet live te zien op televisie.
